Summer Fete – handy guide

tropical picIt’s nearly time for the Minions Tropical Fun Day, here is your essential guide to how to get involved and make the most of it:

Buy raffle tickets
You will have received your raffle tickets in your child’s book bag. If you want a chance to win one of the fantastic prizes just drop your money in envelope provided into school.

Monday 20th June – Wednesday 22nd June
Have a clear out – donate unwanted books, toys and games. Just drop items outside school office.

Friday 24th June: non-uniform day
In exchange for non-uniform day we ask for a donation of sweets or bottles (alcoholic or non alcoholic) for the tombola. Just leave donations in your child’s class when you drop them off.

Morning of Saturday 25th Junebaked goods collection
All donations of homemade or bought yummy treats welcome – just bring them to the school playground

Saturday 25th June, 1100 – 1400 come and enjoy the fabulous Minions Tropical Fun Day with your family, friends and neighbours!

 

 

Latest news – Raffle tickets available soon

Latest news – at the Minions’ Tropical Fun Day on 25 June, we will be holding a fantastic raffle to help the PTA fundraise for important school resources.raffle image We can only do this with your help. We hope that you will buy lots of tickets and sell them to your extended family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues (although please note that under the licensing law, children are not permitted to sell the tickets). The tickets will be going home with your child in their book bag soon.

 Local businesses have been really generous again this year, contributing an array of fabulous prizes. You will have a chance to win:

Minions’ Tropical Fun Day

Great news – the Gwyn Jones PTA summer fair – Minions’ Tropical Fun Day – is on Saturday 25th June, 11am – 2pm.

It will be a day of fun including BBQ, games, face painting, raffle, tombola, DJ and more.

We are sure you will be particularly looking forward to the raffle which is always full of great prizes from local businesses. Tickets will be available soon.

Easter Bonnet Parade & Bake Sale

Hurray – it is nearly Easter and the PTA are proud to present the Easter Bonnet Parade & Bake SaleEaster Bonnet Parade 2016_Poster

There are loads of ways you can get involved and help make it a memorable event:

  1. Take part in the non-uniform day on
    Friday 18th March – students may wear their own play clothes in exchange for bringing in a chocolate egg for the tombola
  2. Donate some baked treats (homemade or bought) to the bake sale – please bring in the morning of Wednesday 23rd March.
  3. Help out at the event – we need extra volunteers and can guarantee it will be a fund afternoon! Speak to Carrie-Anne (year 1 and 4 mum) or email hello@gwynjonespta.com

 

Mothers Day Gift Shop

Friday 4th March 2016

All students are invited to the PTA Mothers Day Gift Shop, during school time, on Friday 4th March.

Children are invited to bring in their money (£1 – £5) to spend at the gift shop. All money should be given to your class teacher or school office by Wednesday 2nd March.

Parents (and any children who miss the deadline) can come to the shop after school to choose from a limited selection.

All proceeds to Gwyn Jones Primary School.

 

Bag2School

We are delighted to be taking part in the Bag2School scheme again this year to raise funds for Gwyn Jones.

Bag2School is a company that specialises in second hand clothing re-use. The dona ions are weighted and we raise money – what’s not to like!

You can donate; adults and children’s clothing, shoes, hats, belts, handbags, ties and soft toys. (No bedding, curtains or towels unfortunately).

You have received a bag full to fill, but if you have more, just bring along in any bag.

Please bring your bags in on Tuesday 2nd February by 0910 at the latest and leave outside the school office.

John Lewis Comunity Matters

Great news! Gwyn Jones PTA has been chosen as one of the John Lewis “Community Matters” charities being supported instore at the Westfield Stratford branch, from now until the end of January 2016.

The green coin drop boxes will be in three areas in store (the cafe , customer services, and customer collections). As you will see from the link below  our school can benefit from a % share of £3,000 which will go towards funding school resources. So please support Gwyn Jones by popping your green coin in our slot next time you shop in the store.

Gwyn Jones PTA are delighted to invite you to our famous winter fair – 2015 theme is Winter Wonderland and we have a raft of festive treats for you!

There will be games, crafts, Frozen snow queen boutique, tombola, delicious food, an amazing raffle and Father Christmas himself in his grotto.

The event will be at Gwyn Jones School on Wednesday, 11th November 2015 at 7.30pm

Curries will be supplied by fantastic, local Indian restaurant – The Star of India.

Tickets are £10 per person (Includes dinner and quiz), please feel free to bring your own wine or soft drinks
