QUIZ AND CUISINE – Friday, 23rd June – 7:30pm

QUIZ AND CUISINE NIGHT

FRIDAY 23rd JUNE 2017

at 7:30pm

£10 per person

Quiz master Rik and his glamorous assistant Lizzy are back to get us in the mood for our summer holidays and this year with continued austerity, Brexit and a snap election it’s definitely a ‘staycation’ on the cards for our quiz teams.

We have a few new rules for this quiz. We would like teams of SIX (teams do not have to be chosen in advance we can team you up on the night – though if you do have five actual friends that will work too!). Each table will have 2 spare chairs for any latecomers whose children refuse to go to sleep, so the stragglers won’t be at a disadvantage.

Please don’t forget that your team doesn’t have to be just Gwyn Jones parents; friends, family and even acquaintances from rival schools and PTSAs are all welcome. The more the merrier!

A hamper of food will be waiting for you on your tables so you can start munching whilst completing the first teaser. The main part of the quiz will start at 8pm sharp WITHOUT FAIL!

As usual we have a feast. To go with our summer holiday fun theme we have picnic hampers of deliciousness thanks to Sanchia of MELIMELUM and Cleo of Red Fox cakes.

Please remember to bring your favourite tipple with you and whether you are quizzing with us or not, if you have an unwanted/uneaten/undrunk gift you would like to donate to our raffle please drop it into the office, your child’s classroom or bring it with you on the night.

Raffle tickets will be available on the night at £1 per strip.

Quiz tickets are £10 per person and are STRICTLY PRE-SALE ONLY.

Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements or allergies so we can ensure your other team members do not eat your share!

To secure your tickets please print this form: CLICK HERE

Fill in the required details, stick it in an envelope with either cash or a cheque made out to ‘Friends of Gwyn Jones’ and then pop it in your child’s book bag or in the school office. Alternatively if you are desperate to secure a large group booking (6 tickets or not a Gwyn Jones parent) you can email us here for bank transfer details and reference number.

Your great support is always appreciated, good luck quizzers.

Mother’s Day Gift Shop and Valentine’s Quiz terrific successes!

A giant thank you to all the hard-working volunteers who made the PTSA Gift Shop this year a wonderful success. We had such an enjoyable day! It was fantastic to see dozens of mums, dads and grandparents helping the Gwyn Jones children at the ‘shop.’ Thank you especially to our buyers and organisors. Also of course our appreciation to all the families that allowed their children to take part – because of your generosity we raised £840 for the school.

A belated thank you to all of you who participated in the Valentine’s Quiz and Cuisine Night. It was a very enjoyable way to raise another £392 for the children of Gwyn Jones!

We are proud to have made a few more contributions to the school this term: our exciting story teller performed for each individual class in late January, and we paid for the new shelter in the key stage 1 playground and for two new drinking fountains for the KS1 and KS2 playground.

Thanks again for supporting your Gwyn Jones PTSA. Enjoy your Summer Term!

We are so excited to announce that our Gwyn Jones Rockin’ Rudolph Party is only 9 sleeps away! This is a wonderful festive event for all of the family, with music, children’ activities, a bottle and sweets tombola and fun games for prizes. There’s also a fantastic arts and craft tent. Plus hot food, teas, coffees and hot chocolates.

The special highlight of the Christmas Season is of course meeting the jolly man himself. All of the children (and grown up children!) are invited to visit our very own magical Santa’s Grotto. Entry is £3, including a lovely present from Santa, and it’s free for you to take pictures with Santa and your children.

Bring along your family and friends to our festive event. Everyone is invited, and we are grateful for the support from the local community. Entry is 50p for adults, 20p for students (or free entry for those helping at the fair and arrive by 11am to set up). Under 3s are of course free too.

As always, we count on all our parents and carers at Gwyn Jones to make these fantastic events possible!

Below are some ways you can help out:

  1. Friday 9th of Dec. is a non-uniform day for the children in exchange for bringing in treats for the tombola. This can be a bottle (non-alcoholic or alcoholic) and/or jar filled with sweets or chocolates. Please bring these to your teacher at drop off time on Friday, 9th of Dec. (If you don’t wish to participate please be sure to you’re your child wear their school uniform or we may suggest a £1 donation in lieu). If you’re feeling generous and have more than one jar or bottle we will happily accept them!
  2. Can you cook a dish or bake a cake? It’s easy to donate a pie, fairy cakes, cookies, or maybe get the kids to decorate gingerbread cookies. Or perhaps you have a great savoury dish we can serve as a lunchtime food? Please bring these between 9am and 12pm on Sat, 10th of Dec. (be sure to label dishes/crockery with your child’s name and class so we can be sure to return them to you)
  3. Most importantly, the children need your lovely self to make this event possible! Sat., 10th Dec. 12 – 3pm. Approximately 40 parents are needed to be involved to run games and crafts and food stalls so that all the all the stalls can go ahead. Be sure to send a note to us:  CLICK HERE if you can spare a bit of time and raise money for your school.

Thank you so much all your support! Can’t wait to see you all at the Rockin’ Rudolph Party and Santa’s Grotto!
